What does autism level 1, level 2, or level 3 mean?

Our report says autism level 2, and I am scared by how permanent that sounds. Does the level decide school placement or what my child can do later?

The levels describe how much support someone appeared to need at the time of evaluation. They are not a prediction of worth, intelligence, school placement, or adulthood. A child can need substantial support in one area and less in another, and support needs can change with services, communication tools, health, and environment. Use the level to unlock appropriate help, but read the detailed recommendations more closely than the number.
