Signs of autism in a 3-year-old girl. What did other parents notice first?

My daughter talks a lot at home but barely speaks at preschool. She copies other kids, melts down after pickup, and has intense pretend-play routines. I know nobody can diagnose online, but what did other parents notice before evaluation?

You are right that nobody can diagnose from a post. Patterns parents often report in girls include copying peers instead of naturally joining them, intense pretend scripts, sensory overload after holding it together all day, anxiety around changes, and social communication that looks stronger with adults than children. Bring concrete examples to the pediatrician and ask for both a medical evaluation referral and, if school is affected, a school evaluation. Masking can make concerns easy to miss.
