Katie Beckett waiver eligibility. Does parent income count?

Someone told me to look into Katie Beckett because our child has high medical and therapy needs. We do not qualify for regular Medicaid based on income. Does parent income count for this?

Sometimes parent income does not count, which is why these programs matter. Katie Beckett, TEFRA, and similar pathways are designed for children with significant disability or medical needs who may not qualify for regular Medicaid based on family income. Names, rules, premiums, and waitlists vary by state. Ask your state Medicaid office or developmental disability agency whether there is a Katie Beckett, TEFRA, or disabled child Medicaid pathway, and apply as early as you can.
